The INVITE project held its Second In-person Project Meeting and Fourth Steering Committee Meeting on 16th of May 2025 in Bursa, Turkey, hosted by the Bursa Lokman Hekim Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The meeting took place as part of Work Package 1 – Project Management, coordinated by NetHub, and brought together all project partners for an in-person review of progress and planning of future activities.
Throughout the meeting, partners presented their work and achievements across all work packages. The session began with an update from the project coordinator, who outlined progress made in project management, including the submission of the first progress report in March and preparations for the upcoming second report due in September. Regular bi-monthly Steering Committee meetings were highlighted as a valuable mechanism for coordination and oversight.
Special focus during the meeting was placed on two key activities currently underway within Work Package 2, coordinated by the University of Zadar: the development of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and the implementation of the eTwinning project for using open pedagogy to create open educational resources (eTwinning project). The OERs, which will include a variety of digital learning materials, will be published on the IPEMED EDUCA platform to ensure open and easy access for students and educators. At the same time, the eTwinning project, an initiative that connects schools across Europe through collaborative online projects, engages students and teachers from Croatia, Slovakia, and Turkey in joint creative activities. These include content co-creation and the use of open pedagogy to foster inclusive digital healthcare education across borders.
During the meeting, upcoming activities were also presented by NetHub, including the Social Innovation Toolkit and the Social Innovation Incubator, whose draft structure was defined during the Second short staff training. Both components aim to support innovation and inclusion within vocational education in the field of digital healthcare.
It was emphasized that all partners are expected to actively contribute to project outreach and communication efforts, coordinated under Work Package 5 by IPEMED. This includes the collection of visual and written materials from local activities, regular updates on social media channels, and input for the final dissemination report. Additionally, plans for the first public conference—scheduled to take place in Split in October 2025 with an expected attendance of approximately 60 participants—were discussed.
Updates were also shared regarding the implementation of the eTwinning project. Partners presented the activities carried out so far, and it was agreed that the next joint activity involving all participating schools will be the collaborative creation of a Dictionary on Inclusive Digital Healthcare.
The partners concluded the meeting with a clear overview of the next steps: finalising OERs and eTwinning project, and publishing project content on the IPEMED EDUCA platform. Preparations for the second project report and planning of dissemination activities are also underway.
This meeting once again demonstrated the strength of collaboration within the INVITE partnership and the shared ambition to create meaningful, inclusive digital health education resources that respond to the needs of vocational education systems across Europe. The day concluded with a joint dinner, offering partners the opportunity to strengthen personal connections and continue exchanging ideas in a more informal setting.
