The INVITE Erasmus+ project successfully held the international hybrid conference “Telemedicine, Digital Innovation and Skills for the Future of Healthcare” on 8 May 2026 in Decollatura, Italy, and online via Zoom.
The event brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, and experts in digital innovation to discuss the growing importance of telemedicine and teleassistance in modern healthcare systems. The conference provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on the opportunities and challenges connected to the digital transformation of healthcare services.
During the conference, participants were introduced to the objectives and achievements of the INVITE Erasmus+ project, which focuses on strengthening digital and professional competences in the healthcare sector through innovative education and training methods.

One of the main highlights was the keynote presentation by Dr. Francesco Esposito from the Complex Primary Care Unit of Reventino, who explained the differences, applications, benefits, and limitations of teleassistance and telemedicine. Additional expert contributions were delivered by Eng. Michele Di Cello, representative of the Italian Society of Telemedicine (SIT), and Prof. Dr. Pietro Hiram Guzzi from the University “Magna Graecia” of Catanzaro.
The programme also included a practical demonstration of healthcare services delivered through telemedicine, followed by an interactive discussion and Q&A session with participants.
Held in English and attended by international participants, the conference reinforced the importance of European cooperation and innovation in shaping the future of digital healthcare.
