Young Innovators for Inclusive Digital Health

As part of the Erasmus+ KA220-VET project INVITE – Social Innovation Incubators for Inclusive Digital Healthcare, the eTwinning project Young Innovators for Inclusive Digital Health brought together teachers and students from Türkiye, Slovakia, and Croatia. The project promoted digital health awareness, social innovation, and international collaboration while supporting the dissemination and sustainability of the INVITE project.

The project objectives:
1. Identifying Real-Life Health and Digital Health Challenges
Students explored real health and digital health challenges in their local communities. They identified common problems affecting individuals and society and designed creative awareness posters using Web 2.0 tools. Through this activity, students strengthened their critical thinking, creativity, and digital content creation skills while proposing practical solutions to current healthcare challenges.

  1. Empathy and Digital Support for Elderly

Students visited a local nursing home to spend time with older adults, listen to their experiences, and better understand the challenges they face in everyday life. They provided support in using digital technologies, promoted digital inclusion, and encouraged communication across generations. This activity helped students develop empathy, social responsibility, and awareness of the importance of accessible digital healthcare.

  1. Expert Talk on Healthy Ageing and Digitalization

A Public Health Specialist and Health Vocational High School teachers delivered an educational session on healthy ageing and digitalization in healthcare. Students learned about digital health technologies, telemedicine, wearable devices, artificial intelligence, and smart home systems that support older adults. The session strengthened students’ understanding of the role of digital innovation in improving the quality of life of elderly people and connected classroom learning with real healthcare practices.

  1. International Mixed Team Collaboration

Students from Türkiye, Slovakia, and Croatia worked together in international mixed teams to prepare a collaborative digital magazine. Each team explored topics such as healthy ageing, digital inclusion, intergenerational solidarity, digital health literacy, empathy, and effective communication with older adults. Working across cultures enabled students to exchange ideas, improve their communication skills, and create a common final product reflecting their creativity, teamwork, and commitment to inclusive digital healthcare.

Through these activities, the project successfully expanded the impact of the INVITE Erasmus+ project by engaging students, teachers, schools, and local communities, demonstrating how eTwinning can effectively disseminate Erasmus+ results and promote inclusive digital healthcare education.
